Performance duracional realizada junto a la investigadora del arte Mariairis Flores. Durante 4 horas permanezco tejiendo dentro de Galería Callejera, vistiendo un küpam. En el vidrio de la galería se leen los datos de mi cuerpo junto al logo del Sernatur, entidad estatal que promueve el turismo nacional. Afuera, Mariairis entrega volantes con la imagen de una mujer mapuche hilando, con un texto copiado textual de la página del Servicio Nacional de Turismo, el cual invita a los turistas a visitar pueblos indígenas, particularmente comunidades mapuche. Este dispositivo funciona como simulacro para quienes circulan por el Parque Bustamante.
Durational performance made with the art researcher Mariairis Flores. During 4 hours I remain weaving inside the Galería Callejera, wearing a küpam. On the gallery’s glass, my body’s data are read together with the logo of Sernatur, a state entity that promotes national tourism. Outside, Mariairis hands out flyers with the image of a Mapuche woman spinning, with a text copied from the National Tourism Service’s website, which invites tourists to visit indigenous villages, particularly Mapuche communities. This device works as a simulation for those who circulate in Bustamante Park.
